Bill, June? Nope, try March.

Bill Clinton did not wrap the 1992 nomination up in June. May? Nope. April? Try again? Here's an article from the NY Times, dated MARCH 20, 1992. MARCH 20, 1992.

"Former Senator Paul E. Tsongas of Massachusetts withdrew from the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination today, a decision that many in his party said all but insured the selection of Gov. Bill Clinton of Arkansas.

Mr. Tsongas announced his departure at a news conference in Boston, where he said his campaign did not have enough money to continue. His move leaves only former Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr. of California to compete with Mr. Clinton in the remaining primaries and caucuses in 21 states."

OK but Jerry Brown didn't drop out till June. No one was calling for him to drop out in March the way that people called for Hillary to drop out constantly for the last half year. Why didn't they treat Jerry Brown as poorly as Hillary?

After March, they simply stopped covering Brown's campaign. They didn't call for him to drop out, but they certainly claimed it was over and stopped covering him. Also, Brown didn't continue running on a claim of "really, I can still win!" he continued running on a claim of "Clinton represents a betrayal of liberal Democrats."

That is my recollection, anyway.

Jerry Brown limited personal donations to $100.  The guy had no ads, little press.  Nobody took him seriously.  The only thing he could have potentially done is deny Clinton an outright pledged delegate win by winning California in the beginning of June.  Of course, he was behind by so much that the idea that he would somehow win after that was completely ludicrous.

he still didn't allow a coronation of Bill Clinton the way people and the media are expecting a coronation of King Barry from Hillary.

Jerry Brown had a 1-800 number to get grass-roots support, and instituted an insurgent type campaign attacking Clinton all the way to the California primary where Clinton finally gained enough delegates to clinch the nomination.

Funny thing about facts, huh?
